Excel bank statement to Tally
Downloaded the statement from net banking as Excel or CSV? Turn it into Tally XML vouchers in a minute, with every row checked against the running balance first.
What RubricRise does with the file
- Finds the transaction table, even below the account details many banks put at the top of the sheet.
- Reads the Date, Narration, Ref, Debit, Credit and Balance columns, or an Amount column with Dr/Cr. SBI, HDFC, ICICI, Axis, Kotak, PNB and most other bank layouts are recognised; you can change any column choice.
- Puts newest-first exports back in date order and checks each row against the running balance.
- Exports Tally XML with credits as Receipt vouchers and debits as Payment vouchers, or a clean Excel file for TallyPrime’s bank statement import.
Steps
- Download the statement from net banking as Excel (.xlsx) or CSV.
- Open the converter and drop the file in. Nothing is uploaded; the file is read in your browser.
- If a row is flagged, check the column choices or edit the amount inline.
- Enter your bank ledger name exactly as in Tally and a contra ledger such as “Suspense A/c”, then export Tally XML.
- In TallyPrime: Gateway of Tally → Import → Vouchers → select the XML. Re-map the suspense entries to the right party or expense ledgers.
What it costs
Every 40 rows count as one page. The first 5 pages every day are free (200 rows), a single statement of up to 25 pages costs ₹99, and the Firm pass covers 2,000 pages for 30 days at ₹999. See pricing.
Old .xls files
Files in the old Excel 97–2003 format (.xls) are not read directly. Open the file in Excel or Google Sheets, save it as .xlsx or CSV, and drop that in.
Statement only in PDF?
That works too. See bank statement PDF to Tally.
